THE LION IN WINTER
BY JAMES GOLDMAN
This powerful and witty play explores the dangerous and convoluted dynamics of royal family's politics during the Middle Ages. The historical figures are real, but this delightful dialogue and verbal swordplay is a modern invention of James Goldman. Watch as Henry II, conqueror of much of Europe, must dodge internal warfare from his wife, Eleanor of Aquitaine, and his scheming and ambitious children, Richard Lionheart, Geoffrey of Anjou, and the infamous John. This production was directed by Joanna Weir-Ouston, and was Elements’ first performance in their new home, Paraclete House.
“A stunningly beautiful and powerful production...” Barnstable Patriot
